Gold Rush Two
Home
Helena, Montana

This is another home which I designed, built and lived in. It is located directly next door to the previous project, Gold Rush House One. More than that home, traditional housing elements are distilled into strong, simple forms and arranged to present an organized street facade with private spaces facing towards a view. The window type and siding fenestration, while typical and traditional, are arranged in a formal and deliberate manner. The scalloped siding above the water table borrows from Queen Anne detailing which would have a similar formal arrangement and is found within the residences located in Helena, Montana. This understated home was comfortable to a broad cross section of people.
